Love him or hate him, you have to admire Frank Kern.

Kern has quickly become an internet marketing legend. And he's got millions of reasons why you should pay close attention to him (as he has millions in the bank).

There are many tactics you can pickup when you study Frank Kern's marketing:

Frank Kern is a character – he's created a persona (i.e. a marketing character) giving us the impressions he's a slacker surfer dude who makes money almost by accident. Don't be fooled by this. Kern admit "it's ninja psychological trickery" on the masses as he actually works quite hard and is sharp as a diamond.

Here's a before and after shot of Frank Kern during his "engineered paradigm shift."

"Move-the-free-line" magic - he borrows from the Dan Kennedy mantra of "telling people what to do, not how to do it." Whether it's fair or not, moving the free line down (while giving the impression you're moving it up) is a surefire tactic to sell more stuff. It's crucial to tell 'em the "what" and sell them the "how to do it" behind a pay wall.

The Gary Halbert of internet marketing – Kern and Halbert (the self-proclaimed copywriting great and "Prince of Print") fully understands the perceived desires and wants that motivate his followers to buy from them… so much so that all they often had to do was "show up", ask for the sale and cash the check.

"Magic shiny silver bullets" – who doesn't want to push a button now and make millions by this weekend? Each Kern product alludes to the ease and speed of success when you buy his stuff.

Look over Frank's shoulder – through surveying his prospects, Kern realized his targets really wanted to peak over his shoulder and see how he makes money. And that's exactly what Kern delivers… a peak into his life via video. This is an excellent way to help build trust with your prospects.

Industry speak – Kern communicates in the same language as his marketplace by using industry jargon to develop rapport with his prospects. For example, Kern's prospects are often internet marketers, so he uses industry words and phrases in his videos such as "Google Slap" or "lead gen" or "CPM"… "autoresponders"… "landing pages", etc.

Step-up funnel – this is the crux of Kern's success. Frank's sales funnel move his 170,000 prospect email list into a low-cost product (just $1)… then he moves these buyers into ordering his Mass Control… then into his Mass Control Monthly (his continuity product)… then into even more expensive products. Business guru Jay Abraham calls this "The System"… you offer a low-priced "loss leader" product, get the customer hooked, move 'em up to more expensive products — rinse and repeat. This is the magic formula used by just about every internet millionaire.

I invited "Doberman" Dan Gallapoo to join me and record a blow-by-blow analysis of Frank Kern's marketing strategies and tactics. I also invited Tim Adams to join us as well… he paid $97.00 to beta test a new Frank Kern product — and he took EXTENSIVE notes…

… … We recorded over 3 hours of audio… reverse engineering Frank Kern's marketing tactics – take a peak over Frank Kern's shoulder with us here (this is one of the best reports I've ever offered for sale)…

There's no reason for you to struggle with internet advertising. If you're ready to profit with Facebook ads now, you might want to grab these Internet advertising tips, techniques and methods.

I stumbled upon a nifty post by Justin Goff describing a start-to-finish example of a profitable Facebook internet advertising campaign.

This campaign took him a week or so to become profitable, but he's now got it tweaked and you could actually just copy this and start making money as an affiliate.

Here’s the nuts and bolts of it…

The Product: The 31 Day Fat Loss Cure (this is his own product on Clickbank, affiliate info is here if you’re interested)

Landing Page: Justin linked directly to his sales video which is at 31DayFatLossCure.com/abs (if you’ve never seen a video like this, the add to cart button pops up at the end of the video so they can order…its pretty cool).

Next, he started making making some Facebook ads…

When he does this, he usually makes up to 30 different ads (mostly testing the pictures in the ads).

Justin found that a great picture gives you the biggest change in click thru rates (CTR). So out of the 30 or so ads he tested, these were the top 3 converting ads.

Just by improving your CTR you can get a much better Cost Per Click (CPC) and your profits are going to go through the roof. If you have a few extra bucks to spend, Justin highly recommendd picking up the FB Ads Manager. This thing literally saves him 20-25 hours each week. Justin simply uploads all of the ads, targets the market he wants and let's it run while he's sleeping.

And by the way here’s a big tip that he got from Jeremy Schoemaker (aka Shoemoney):

Set up your campaign so that in Clickbank each ad has a different sub ID on the end (much easier to do than it sounds). This way you can track the EXACT ads that are sending you the sales.

Of the ads pictured at the top of this post, Justin actually found that the middle ad generated the most sales (even though it didn't have the best CTR).

Once you have some ads ready, you MUST narrow down and calculate your target market…

Narrowing Your Market For Maximum Money Making

If you’ve ever done any campaigns for fitness/fat loss products, you know that the best market for these products is in the 35-65 year old age group.

Justin targeted each of these ads specifically to women in the 35-55 year old range on Facebook. He didn’t target any specific keywords with these ads, just women in general. Here are the exact settings Justin used:

Female, 35-55

United States

CPC (bidding around .30 per click)

That’s a pretty broad market, but it was still profitable. Since then he's gotten more into niching down by smaller groups of years and also by time zones in the U.S.

Justin thinks there’s also a lot of money to be made targeting keywords. For example, you could target people who like “The Biggest Loser” which is over 1 million people on Facebook — he hasn’t tried this yet, but he's confident it would convert pretty well.

The Profits

Overall on this campaign, Justin invested a total of $493.76 and brought in $621.19 in revenue. So the overall profit for the campaign was $127.43. Now you might not think that’s much money, but here’s how he's going to scale it out…

… During this test campaign, Justin was capping his ad spend each day to $50. Now since this campaign is profitable, all he needs to do is increase his ad spend to $300 or so dollars per day, and within a few days this will easily turn into a $100 profit each and everyday. That’s an average of $36,500+ per year.

Not to mention, Justin hasn’t even started targeting this campaign to men.

Now a question most people usually have is “what’s better, CPC or CPM?”

CPC vs. CPM

This campaign was all run on CPC, but he's been playing around with CPM lately.

Here’s the deal though…

… Facebook recently changed its algorithm, and they are trying to push direct response marketers over to CPC. In simple speak, the days of dirt cheap CPM clicks are pretty much over.

But that’s ok, because even a campaign like this you could still easily make $20k-$30k a year as an affiliate just by direct linking.

On a campaign like this your goal should be to get as many people to the landing page as possible – for as cheap as possible. If you can find cheap .10 cent clicks this Facebook campaign would be an absolute gold mine.

Now that leads to the next big tip, which is improving your click through rate!

How To Increase Your CTR on Facebook Ads

One of the keys to making a bunch of money on Facebook is to keep your CTR high.

Now the big problem with this (unlike with Adwords) is that the same people are seeing your ad everyday they login to Facebook. So after about 7-10 days your ad is going to lose its good CTR, and you’re going to need a new ad.

If you have a picture that’s converting well, you can do something simple like adding a colored border or circle around the image.

If that doesn’t work it’s time to test 20-30 new pictures, and then you can simply bring your old one back in a few weeks.

Justin Goff is the owner of The 31 Day Fat Loss Cure.

There's no reason for you to struggle with list building. If you're ready to find fast ways to hook new buyers to your website, you might want to grab these list building tips, techniques and methods.

Are you thinking about list building… in particular, how to have successful list building campaigns with thousands of active subscribers who will take action on your emails, and also one that will generate you massive amounts of income on demand? If so, the list building tips below are sure to help you out.

While the steps involved in email list building – namely creating an opt-in page, signing up for an autoresponder service, and following up with your subscribers, may seem easy tasks, but, in order to have successful list building campaigns, you need to do them right – Starting from how you create your opt-in page.

In the next few sections, I'm going to share with you 3 list building tips that will allow you to have successful list building campaigns just like any other Internet Marketing gurus.

Give Them Enough Reason To Sign Up

I'm sure most of your visitors, prior to visiting your website (where you have your opt-in page is) are already subscribers of other marketers' mailing lists, and their emails are flooded with messages from these marketers every single day.

Unless you give them enough reason why they should sign up for your list, they will not do so.

Therefore, what you should do is to offer them something that is of high value in exchange for their first name and email address. It should be something that they can receive immediately after they have sign up – such as a short report, audio/video course, email tutorial series, etc.

To increase your opt-in page's opt-in rate, what you can do is to offer something that contain solutions to nail-biting problems that your visitors may have (you can find out pressing problems that your niche market have by conducting some simple research through forums).

What you also need to do is that, in your opt-in page, you will want to highlight that upon signing up, they will be able to get instant solutions to nail-biting problems that they have (and you will need list down the problems.

By doing so, you will be able to grab your visitors by the eyeballs and they'll be more inclined to enter their first name and email address as they want solutions to these nail-biting problems.

Choosing A Reliable Autoresponder Service

Your autoresponder is the heart of your all list building campaigns.

Therefore, you must choose one that is not only reliable, but also one that has excellent customer service, where you can get help from instantly whenever you bump into any problems.

The reason is because you want your email messages to be able to reach all your subscribers. Imagine if you are using an unreliable autoresponder service, and whenever you send out promotional emails, it only gets sent out to 50% of your list subscribers. You'll tend to lose out on lots of income as a result, and it's not even your fault!

Therefore, I would strongly recommend that you sign up for a reliable autoresponder service. There are 3 autoresponder services that I would highly recommend, and they are ImnicaMail, Aweber and GetResponse.

Structuring Your Email Content

You should structure your email content according – such that it is neither 100% promotional-based nor 100% free information.

The reason is because if your email content is 100% promotional-based, you will start to see your subscribers gradually unsubscribing from your list as most people hate to being sold to.

On the flip side, if your email content is 100% free information, then it is obvious that you will not be able to generate any profits from it your list building campaigns.

What I would recommend is to have a mix of free information and promotional-based content – In that you can send out 4 emails that contains free information for your subscribers, and 2 emails that contain information where you review a product/service.

So, there you have it – The above are 3 list building tips that, if you follow them, will help you build successful list campaigns.

There's no reason for you to struggle with making your next internet marketing video. If you're ready to get more customers to your blog or website now, you might want to grab these internet video marketing tips, techniques and methods.

Video products are easier to make than most internet marketers would believe.

Hundreds of people stop themselves from making video products because they believe that they aren't technically gifted enough. What they are really doing is leaving money on the table because you can charge a lot more for video products than you can for text products.

It doesn't take much to change a text product into a video product if you know the right steps. Read on for tips to making more profit with your products by using video.

Plan your video format based on your strengths. If you feel more comfortable with speaking in front a camera, by all means do it. But you don't have to sit in front of the camera to make a successful video. Some of the best videos are screenshot video that displays exactly what is going on with your screen.

If you are a better at narrating rather than speaking in front of the camera, you can use the a screenshot program rather than a regular video camera.

Write down the structure before you start shooting. Even if you know the topic well, you need to write down a structure for your video before you begin shooting. Keep in mind that a page of written text is about two minutes of spoken text. Before you start shooting your script, time your script so you know how long you'll need to shoot it.

Keep your at ten to fifteen minutes tops. People don't like to sit around and watch their computer screens forever. You need to keep your videos on the short side. When you time your videos you need to make sure that they fit within this time frame in order to keep your viewers interested.

Make a video series if you want to increase the power of your product. If you have content that is going to last longer than ten to fifteen minutes you should make a video series to sell to your target market. If your content is going to be really in depth, you can even split it into two sets of videos and offer the second as an upsell.

Speak to one person at a time. Even though your video will be seen by many people they will only view it one at a time, so when you're speaking make sure that you speak directly to one person. Using "you" and "yours" will help you connect with the audience more.

Don't worry about being perfect. As you're shooting the video, don't worry about being perfect when you narrate the video. Your customers want to know that a normal person just like themselves is making the video. If you're too formal you won't be approachable.

Provide a transcribed script. If you want to give your audience additional value, you can send your video to a service like Elance.com and have one of the workers there turn your video into a text document.

Are you frustrated with writing title tags? Here's why: 1) You don't know what words to include, 2) You're not optimizing your title meta tag to get spidered by Google, and 3) You don't know the title tag techniques used by the pros. Let me show you how to fix these problems and get more search engine referrals with these webpage title tag secrets!

The webpage title (also known as "Page Titles") offers many important functions. It's one of the most overlooked aspect of website design and internet marketing.

Creating a great webpage title is a surefire way to attract precisely qualified visitors to any of your webpages. It's for this reason I always invest more time on my title tag than any other aspect of my webpage (and suggest you do the same).

Here are my best-kept tips and techniques to create the perfect title tags:

Turn your title tag into a new-visitor magnet
The title tag has always been (and will probably always be) one of the most important factors in gaining high search-engine rankings.

The keyword phrase used in your webpage title draws visitors to your website from search engines.

When the words placed in your page title matches a search query, you have a chance of getting that visitor to your site. No other phrase on your webpage carries this weight. Search engines like Google, Yahoo! and Bing rely heavily on your webpage title to determine the rank of your featured listing in their search results. They reward you with higher rank when the webpage title matches the overall theme of your content.

The actual text you use in your title is one of the most important factors in how search engines decide to rank your web page. And all major web crawlers use the text of your title tag as the text they feature in their SERPs (Search Engine Result's Pages).

I HIGHLY recommend using popular keyword phrases in your webpage title… especially at the beginning. This is known as prominence. Search engines put more weight in ranking words that show up at the beginning of your title tag.

The most common mistake I see is placing a company name as the title. This is a waste of crucial space as you only have 66 characters to work with (any more are cut off from most search engine results' listings). Make every character count.

Use call-to-action wording
Just because you rank #1 doesn't necessarily guarantee clicks to your website. This is a very common problem, and the good news is it's easy to fix.

Remember, Google (and most other search engines) clone your title tag and display it as a clickable link to your site. What you want to do is encourage these searchers to not only see your link, but to visit your website. You do this by writing additional teaser copy.

For example, this link might get some clicks:
German Chocolate Cake

But I KNOW this link is going to gain a lot of clicks:
German Chocolate Cake – Best Chocolate Recipe You've Ever Tasted

Avoid long-tail keywords
You might think twice about using long-tail keyword phrases in your title.

Long-tail keywords (as the name suggests) are search queries that are longer than average… typically 5 or more words.

For example, a long-tail keyword is something like ‘German Chocolate Cake Recipe’ while a short-tail keyword is something like ‘Cake Recipe’.

Spammers typically try to game Google and other search engines by adding long-tail keywords to their webpage title… and this might work against you if you try the same.

My testing shows 3-word keyword phrases seem to be just the perfect length.

The perfect length
Most search engines only display the first 66 characters of the title of your webpage. Suggestion: Keep your web page titles no more than 66 characters so they show up in the SERPs without being truncated.

A waste of precious time
A lot of internet marketing gurus give us bad information about titles for webpages… instead referring to it as the title meta tag. The title meta tag is not the same as your webpage title. In fact in my testing, I find filling out the title meta tag is a complete waste of time. Instead of generating a meta title tag, just focus on a webpage title.

A before Z always wins
The title of your webpage also doubles as the default entry in your visitor's Favorites when they bookmark your webpage… and most web browsers sort Favorites in alphabetical order — so you might have your first word in your title tag start with the letter "A".

History
Just like Bookmarks and Favorites, browsers use page titles to label pages in the browser’s web surfing history. Having a descriptive webpage title makes it easier for your visitors to return to your webpage.

Final tip
There's no reason for you to struggle with writing a webpage title. If you're ready to write better title tags to get you more leads from search engines, you might want to grab these webpage title tips, techniques and methods.

Over the weekend, internet marketing message boards have been buzzing about AWeber Communications… the popular email service provider.

It seems there's a new spam connection between those who subscribe to email marketing offers and AWeber. Those who track this sort of stuff find that they're getting inundated with spam offers — and the common connection is AWeber.

The evidence seems to indicate a very simple explanation… someone accessed AWeber Communications' master database of email address, copied a percentage of these emails, and sent a bunch of pharmaceutical spam.

The spam is not coming from AWeber's emailing system, but rather from an army of email bots. But it's becoming obvious that the source of the email addresses is from AWeber Communications.

The good news is this particular spammer is going to get shut down very quickly. That's how it works. Spammers make their money quickly until they're caught (sometimes just minutes is all that's needed to make a fortune).

The bad news is this could seriously affect AWeber Communication's solid reputation.

I've known the founder (Tom Kulzer) for about 9 years. I've eaten dinner with him. If you know me, I rarely meet up with internet marketing gurus and vendors (I live way in the country and HATE traveling to the cities). And Tom is a VERY reputable guy…

… With that said, many are upset that AWeber is completely silent about this. And I get it. When my hosting company EV1 "claimed" to have a fire, my site was down for almost a week. It wasn't the outage that frustrated me, but rather the lack of communication.

Yes, this is new news. The first report of this showed up at this Warrior Forum post on Friday at just after 1 p.m. (NY time). And yes, it's the weekend. And yes, you have to be careful these days as lawyers run our lives.

With that said, AWeber Communication's blog and Facebook and Twitter accounts are totally silent about this. And this is a very bad strategy. Tom is notorious for replying to message board posts about his company in rapid fashion. But the silence on this particular issue is deafening. All Tom has to do is to recognize that there SEEMS to be an issue and he's personally looking into it. That's it. Just a one paragraph statement would fit the bill for now to let his concerned customers know he's on it.

Bad things happen to just about every business. And when bad things happen to your company, the worst thing to do is to be silent about it. It's beyond obvious that this spam is coming from AWeber… I hope Tom ignores his legal advice and gets ahead of this issue (instead of the other way around).

Update (12/21/2009 @ 7:12 p.m.): AWeber Communications updated their blog about this compromise here.

Call me unlucky, but I've never had a good experience getting gifts… so now I've created a corporate gift policy.
Over the last year or so, I've been on the receiving end of quite a few unannounced gifting… a token of gratitude for offering my business building tips.
This is awesome. It's really cool to know that people appreciate the hard work. And as the economy continues to plunge, it would seem an unannounced gift is a welcome token of appreciation.

Does your current corporate gift policy actually
hurt your bottom line?

Accepting gifts is almost always tricky… depending on who is making the gift (and the donor's wishes for the gift).
Sometimes a gift is just a gift with no string attached… no catches:

One time I got a $100.00 PayPal cash gift for absolutely no reason. This gifter just enjoyed talking to me on the phone. And this guy is well-known (and well respected in the internet marketing industry). It was great! Very cool move. I tell this story often.

But this is by far the exception rather than the rule. Most other times, a gift is nothing more than subtle (and not so subtle) bribe to squeeze a person for free advice or free services.

I finally decided to pull the plug and develop a super simple corporate ethics policy on gifting:

I'm no longer accepting gifts. Just about every time I do, it costs me more than it's worth.

One time I got a small cash gift, but I then found myself spending hours and hours of time setting up an entire website for free. If I figured out my net pay per hour, I could have made more flipping burgers.

Author and publisher Jeffrey Dobkin ("How To Market a Product for Under $500") has a similar position on free lunches:

"A person calls and says he wants to take me for lunch. I reluctantly agree and we wind up going across the street for a brief lunch – that takes an hour and a half – while he hammers me for marketing information. He then orders a coffee – good for another 45 minutes. Finally, the bill arrives, it's twenty bucks and I ask if I can leave the tip and he agrees. I leave a nice tip as we took so much of the waiters time and they can't turn the table again till dinner. Then when we're leaving he thanks me briefly for the information, but feels like I owe him since he bought me lunch. No thanks. I don't do that any more."

One listener to my broadcast insisted on meeting me and paying for lunch. I bit. And it was a nightmare… the entire lunch was a blatant attempt to sell me an MLM opportunity. It was REALLY, REALLY awkward.

Sometimes a gift was never meant to be… a listener of mine heard me rave about Sather's famous cinnamon buns in Chicago. She actually took my hint and tried to send me some — shipped by Priority Mail, too. There were no strings attached and had all the best intentions in the world. But the buns never arrived at my house… instead they were mistakenly shipped to my PO Box. Yikes! That mistake cost my listener at least $20.00, and all I got were hard-as-rocks buns.

Unfortunately, I find the cons far outweigh the pros. It's for this reason I've put into immediate effect a new, no-gift policy.
