Is it really worth paying thousands and thousands of dollars to mingle with the world's bloggers at Blog World 2011 in Los Angeles? This blog gives you the inside scoop...

I'm writing this blog post on the exact same day Blog World 2011 (#BWELA) kicked off in Los Angeles.

An no, I'm not attending. Why? Because I'd rather watch chrome rust. Seriously, I'd rather show you how to make a fulltime living as a blogger – click here to get my blogging tutorials (it's 100% FREE).

I'm continually amazed how a never-ending carousel of bloggers flock to each year's "circus." Seriously, at least P.T. Barnum gave us an entertaining show for less sheckles than it costs to see a movie.

Holy crap, where do I begin?

Okay, let's start with the price of admission:

If these prices don't make you choke on your chicken, you're a better blogger than I (and I make a full-time living at it). Seriously, you're paying an entrance fee to get sold an upgrade. Every aspect of this expo is a sales letter in disguise of "blogging breakthroughs." It's a pitchfest from every angle.

I could go on and on about this scam (and yes, it is a whopper of a scam and so many ways)… here's why:

Strange bedfellows
BlogWorld is sponsored by Ford, Century 21, Johnson and Johnson and Dun and Bradstreet. What in the world does a car company, a home seller, and bandage company and a credit rating agency have to do with blogging?

But the "VIP Sponsor" this year is Heineken. Okay, that makes sense now…

… Because that's the REAL reason most bloggers fly into BlogWorld – for the "social" aspect. In simple speak, Blog World is a party.

Social media marketing
Very, very few bloggers make any dough rey me using social media. It's a total fraud and scam. The only people who make cash with social media marketing are those selling tools and tutorials on how to cash in on social media marketing. It's a total circle jerk (and you're on the receiving end of the jerk).

Noise
According to Lincoln Adams (who attended last years Blog World in Las Vegas), you get hammered with an "endless, unceasing, outside, inside… even in the hotel room noise. It never stops."

Rookies
When you pay up to $1,297.00, you expect the expo to literally hand over the keys to the blogging kingdom and show you EXACTLY how to blog for profit. Instead, you end up getting a lecture on how to do the most basic things. That's because most of the audience is made up of newbies… blog rookies who barely know how to install a WordPress plugin.

BlogWord boasts a field of 275 "experts in the field"… ready to spout their path to blogging success in over 150 sessions. Instead, you often get stuff you can find in almost any under-$10 Kindle ebook.

Shiny, magic bullets
If you're looking for those intrepid, insider secrets only the gurus pretend to know, attending these expos is going to be a huge disappointment for you.

But you will be given the IMPRESSION that you're just a click away from instant internet riches. Just meet the speaker at the back of the room and (once again) hand over your credit card for the next greatest blog business in a box.

Instant social
Most attendees (even the shy ones) claim to dig the social aspect of these conferences. And I can understand why on the surface. Instead of trading texts back and forth with your colleagues, you get to meet them in the flesh – usually for the very first time. That's cool… for about 15 minutes or so.

Then it hits you like a brick why blogging by yourself is so awesome. Because you don't have to deal with idiots all day long.

My daddy always told me that mass networking was for losers. And he's right. You'll never see really successful people dishin' out a business card in a big 'ol meet and greet.

Now day one is killer. You're totally suffering from jet lag and the first day of conferences takes a brutal toll on you physically and mentally. But right on cue, someone in your group reminds you that the greatest blog party to ever exist is just hours away. You're beat, but don't want to be a party pooper and you go (even though it's NEVER even close to your hotel room).

We all know what happens next. You drink way too much. You make an ass out of yourself. And the next thing you remember is sitting in another "session" on day #2 – starving to death and tired as all get out. Good times! (Not.)

But hey, at least you got to ride the wave:

Wow. Now that's entertaining (dripping with sarcasm).

Dog food
Whether you're a foodie like me (or not), you're going to be HIGHLY disappointed by the selection of food you get during this trip. While it's true that your $1,297.00 all-access pass includes lunch and snacks, I wouldn't even give it to my dog it's so bad. And there's nothing worse than trying to learn when you're hungry.

And good luck finding good food near the conference center… no matter how much you pay, tracking down good eats is nearly impossible near this expo.

Fat ass
Don't be fooled by the dates at Blog World 2011. The calendar might say November 3rd 'til the 5th, but the truth is you're going to be away from home for at least five days. And when you come home, you're going to be so exhausted, you won't get back into your rhythm for at least another few days…

… For me, that's almost a week without proper eating and proper exercise. I mean, it's bad enough we make a living blogging all day at our computer, but at least I get to exercise almost every day. But thanks to Blog World, I'm guaranteed to add more than a few pounds to my backside.

Swag
This takes the cake for me… a lot of attendees roam the aisles of the exhibit halls looking for "swag"… free nicknacks like popcorn and logo-filled shopping bags and gimmicky plastic things that one would expect to see at the local state fair. Really folks? You travel thousands and thousands of miles… pay thousands and thousands of dollars in conference fees, hotels, flight and meals – and you get all excited about swag? Oy vey my brother.

Smoke and mirrors
Most people I talk to almost unanimously feel the session descriptions are "inaccurate" (that's political correct speak for "bullshit"). There's nothing worse than waiting for session to start, then finding out half-way through it that it's not targeted for you. That's a lot of wasted time that you can't get back.

Paneling
Blog World loves to give us panels… a series of industry "experts" ready and eager to blurt out amazing nuggets of blog gold. But much like fake wood paneling, it just sucks. And a lot of attendees complain about this.

Bottom line
There's no reason for you to hunt and peck for blog tips from an overpriced Blog World 2011. If you're ready to finally make a full-time living blogging right now, you might want to click here to grab these blogging tips, techniques and methods…

Pingback trackback is a system used to associate posts on different blogs and, in a greater sense, it allows blogs to "share" readers.

Here's an example of how a pingback linkback works: If you have just posted an article discussing Admiral Byrd's second Antarctic expedition and then happen to run across a similar or related post on another blog, you could use the trackback mechanism to notify the other poster of the existence of your post. When your trackback notification (which is the permalink to your post and, possibly, some basic information about your blog) appears on the post in the other blog that blog's readers will also be notified that you have something to say on the subject and they may pay you a visit.

Everyone can have it but not everyone does! Some blogs have this Trackback capability built in and others do not. But the good news is that Haloscan, a very popular comment tracking program, now offers a trackback feature for those who don't have it and the better news is its FREE! If you are interested you can go to sign up. Note that signing up for Trackback (if you don't already have it) gives YOU trackback capabilities, but you will still not be able to Trackback to a post on a blog that does not have Trackback.

Trackbacks vs. comments

Normally you will see a post you have something to say about and comment on it. Using a Trackback when you don't have an honestly related post — one that adds something relevant or clarifies the subject post — is not an accepted practice. If you become known as a "trackback spammer" by sending unrelated trackbacks you may be banned from the offended blogs.

How it works: Trackback send a "ping" (an electronic notification) from your blog to another blog to notify them of your post. This ping also notifies their Trackback program to list your post. Some bloggers moderate their trackbacks, i.e., they manually review each trackback notification and verify that it is indeed a related post — this prevents spammers from relating their junk posts to real blogs. If the blogger reviews your post and finds it relevant he or she can permit the trackback and your post will then be listed as a trackback on the other blog.

The first step in creating a trackback is getting the "Trackback URL" from the post where you want to send your Trackback notification. If the post does not have a Trackback URL, they either don't have a Trackback capability or they have it turned off.

Next, copy that URL into the appropriate place on your blog's post. This will usually be identified by some reference to "Trackback URLs" or "Trackback pings."

Next, republish your blog — your trackback software will automatically send the Trackback ping to the target blog's post.

That's all here is to it, your trackback, featuring a permalink to your post, will be sent to the target post and, after being approved (if the blogger is moderating trackbacks) your Trackback will be listed.

Other functions: On some systems it is possible to send simultaneous Trackbacks to more than one target posts. Another capability of Trackback allows you to send a trackback ping to yourself, linking a post on another blog — this lets your readers know that the other post is out there and can be considered a "recommended reading" type function.

Are you frustrated with your blogging efforts? Here's why: 1) You're not using the right blogging software, 2) You're not using the best WordPress plugins and 3) You're not making enough money with your blog. Let me show you how to fix these problems and get more people to know about your blog.

One of the advantages of blogging with WordPress blogging software is the option of using WordPress plugins.

These plugins give us additional functionality within the WordPress software – giving us the ability to put our blogging on autopilot.

Here's my recommended… must-have list of my favorite WordPress plugins I use myself to enhance my WordPress blog (listed in order of importance):

All in One SEO Pack – This is my all-time favorite WordPress plugin.

It adds automatic search engine optimization options into each WordPress post… ultimately attracting visitors to your blog almost automatically.

I say almost automatically because there are three empty fields to fill out for each post you make:

- Webpage title

- Meta description

- Meta keywords

When you fill out these the right way, you're going to get a lot more clicks from search engine results to your blog post.

WP Auto Tagger – -This plugin automatically scans your blog post and looks for popular keyword phrases. It takes these phrases and creates a backup search engine friendly duplicate page.

Don't fret about the technical details of this plugin. All I can say is that after checking my blog stats, a large majority of my search engine referrals come as a result of WP Auto Tagger creating these tags.

Google XML Sitemaps – This amazing WordPress plugin generates a special Google-friendly sitemap every night helping you get your blog post noticed by search engine spiders and bots.

Google XML Sitemaps creates a file called "sitemap.xml" — an A to Z index listing the details of each blog post. For example, mine is found at:

http://www.marketing-ideas.org/sitemap.xml

Submit your sitemap to Google, Yahoo! and Bing and watch your blog content show up faster in these popular search engines.

AdSense Now! – If you're not making money with your blog, you should.

And Google AdSense is the fastest and easiest way to make money I've ever tested (when you put my AdSense secrets into action, that is).

The AdSense Now! plugin makes it a breeze to add Google AdSense revenue sharing into your blog… just install the plugin, copy and paste your AdSense code and configure the positioning settings to display your ads between your blog post's headline and content:

Top: Center

Middle: Suppress

Bottom: Suppress

W3 Total Cache – WordPress is great, but it's notoriously slow loading. It takes many many seconds just to start to see your blog content display.

In today's world, speed is everything. If your site doesn't display in a second or so, your visitor clicks to your competitor.

The good news is this WordPress plugin DRAMATICALLY improves the speed of your blog by adding page and database caching which displays your blog faster.

wpuntexturize – By default, most WordPress themes add "graphic embellishments" to your blog posts… that includes those sometimes fancy curly quotes.

You've probably seen the problem frequently… you go to read a blog post and it's riddled with question marks and other weird characters. This happens when a blogger copies and pastes content from another blogger with curly quotes.

This simple plugin prevents WordPress from making HTML entity code substitutions of single and double quotation marks with their curly alternatives.

Broken Link Checker – Search engine robots and spiders don't like it when your hyperlinks to recommended sources are outdated and don't work.

Are you frustrated with making money on the internet? Here's why: 1) You're listening to all of the wrong gurus, 2) You're working too hard... trying to blog your way to a decent living, and 3) You're not putting your efforts on autopilot. Let me show you how to fix these problems and make money with your own article directory site!

One of the most profitable businesses to operate is an article directory.

Here's how it works – you setup a blog and allow guest bloggers to send you articles. Once approved, the articles go live and show up on your blog. Each article is surrounded by paid advertising (e.g. Google AdSense)… and when your visitor clicks on these ads, you get paid cash (whether they buy something or not).

This is a brilliant business because the profit margins are off the charts. The only real cost is time… time to approve each article draft. And it's a never-ending parade of profit because every word doubles as search engine bait… delivering visitors to your site day by day — and never ends.

I run a blog directory. And I bet you've never heard of it (until now).

Unlike most blog directories, I don't accept author submissions. I don't need to (I explain why below). That's WAY too time consuming. Plus most article writers put out worthless junk.

Instead, I borrow content from a competing blog directory (ArticlesBase) and let them do all of the hard work for me… screening authors, approving well-written content and even formatting each article perfectly to insert into my blog directory.

This is 100% ethical and 100% legal. In fact, this article directory actually encourages anyone with a blog to steal their author's content and clone it to a blog. But here's the best part…. the entire process is automated. Every morning, a fresh batch of precisely-targeted content awaits my approval. I simply preview each post and click the [Publish] submit button in my WordPress Dashboard. That's it! It couldn't be easier.

So what's my secret to complete blogging automation?

My #1 secret is I installed this autoblogger WordPress plugin. I bought it when it was just $47, and it's the best under-$50 purchase I've ever made. Every day, it grabs precisely-related blog content from an article directory and post it to my blog.

By default, this autoblogger software posts each article live on my blog, but gives you the option to wait for your approval — I choose this option as I'm a bit of a control freak. Each articles takes me less than 45 seconds to scan.

Now there's no reason for you to struggle with making money online. If you're ready to put your internet marketing on autopilot now, you might want to grab these internet marketing secrets, tips, techniques and methods.

Here's why: 1) You're listening to all of the wrong gurus, 2) You're not showing the right text ads, and 3) You're wasting your time on affiliate programs that don't pay. Let me show you how to fix these problems and make more money blogging with these get paid to blog secrets!

If you're wondering how to make money blogging, you're not alone.

Most bloggers have all of the best intentions, but fail to bank blog money.

We all listen to the "gurus" for ideas to make money blogging, but these same gurus are just dead wrong.

The good news is there's a solid, reputable and relatively easy way to earn money blogging. I use the following 3 techniques when blogging for cash:

Sell stuff – Visitors to your site are most likely searching for solutions to their problems. Some arrive to your blog already in the buying mood. And blog postings tend to seem more credible and believable… so linking to a solution tends to generate high conversions.

I actually find a two-step selling process works best. I pitch the idea of subscribing to my free email newsletter and from time to time cordially mention products I sell. Offering solutions to fix problems with this method works quite well for me. And my website tracking stats show significantly higher conversion rates compared to trying to make the sale directly from my blog posts.

Show corporate advertising – As the economy sinks further into depression and recession, only the strongest companies are going to survive. And these companies have a lead generation problem… knowing it's important to put their lead generation on autopilot. So these companies are willing to pay bloggers to help them redirect these blog visitors to their website.

There are all sorts of ways to accept cash for ads on your blog:

Contextual ads – Brokers like Google and Chitika offer to play middleman and share in the revenue for placing sponsor's ads on your blog.

The most common ad is a classified ad. Some place display ads. And some uses services that turn some of the words in your blog post into clickable ads.

No matter which format you agree on, you're getting paid. Every time your blog visitor clicks on these links (or ads), you split the revenue with your broker of choice. It's great because you're able to bank real money without the appearance of selling out.

Exclusive sponsorships – A more lucrative and stable stream of income comes when you strike a private arrangement with an exclusive sponsor. I know several bloggers who have year-long contracts with advertisers thrilled with displaying their ads exclusively next to blogger content.

I offer unique advertising to earn money blogging – featuring a different corporate sponsor on my blog every single day of the year. I have 365 websites I feature… companies pay me anywhere from $1 to $365 to feature their website based on the day of year. Jan. 1 is $1, the 2nd is $2, and so on, until Dec. 31, which is $365. When you add the math, that's $66,805.00 this year. It's guaranteed money and it takes me about 25 minutes a day to complete each day's blog post.

Do you see why I love to make money blogging (and you should, too)?

Sell affiliate products – Many "gurus" tell us it's easy to make money blogging by promoting other people's products. Good luck with that. I tried promoting over 200 different affiliate products since November of 1997 and not a single company has paid me on time. That's no typo… zero.

With that said, some have come close. And it's for this reason I'm extremely careful about promoting other people's products.

Yes, you can make some money with affiliate programs, but I prefer selling my own product and displaying corporate sponsors next to my blog content as my primary way to earn money blogging.

Final tip – There's no reason for you to struggle with making money with earning money blogging. If you're ready to cash in right now, you might want to grab these blog money tips, techniques and methods.

This year, I'm going to bank more than $200,000.00 working 15 to 25 minutes a day by corporate blogging… yes, making money blogging is a reality.

I don't say this to brag, but merely to get you excited about the possibilities of how to make money blogging in less time than it takes to eat lunch today.

The bad news is most people won't make money blogging. In fact, most won't make a single penny and are going to give up too soon. Most bloggers post a few blog posts and then quit. That's a shame because if they give it some more time, making money blogging is SO exciting.

Here are the reasons why you're not making money with blogs:

Don't have the time – Writing for your blog seems time consuming at first, but it doesn't have to be.

I invest 15 to 25 minutes a day blogging. And I write my own, fresh 100% original content.

Sometimes I can crank out a great blog post in just minutes. Other times I get stuck and get distracted. When I suffer brain freeze, I take a break and return later to finish my blog entry.

The key to writing quickly is to:

- Not worrying about typos or poor grammar on the first draft…

- Use Google's FREE amazing keyword tool to hunt down blogging ideas…

- Eliminate all distractions…

- Write like you talk…

- Pretend you're writing to an 8-year old (i.e. write short sentences)…

- Use time tested copywriting formulas (like the Hagelian Dialectic)…

- Reward yourself after you've finished blogging

Analysis Paralysis – Perfectionism is the blog writer's achilles' heel.

Don't worry about crafting the perfect blog. Your English teacher isn't reading your blog, and you can always fix typos and grammatical mistakes in the future.

In fact, I actually make more money when I have the occasional spelling mistake. It's true. That's because a lot of people use search engines to find my blog content… and those same people can't spell when searching Google. And when their search query matches my typo in my blog post, I have an excellent chance of getting that same searcher to my blog.

Brainwashed – For some odd reason, fellow bloggers convince us that it's "selling out" to write a blog for profit. Well guess what… I "sold out" a long time ago. And it's thanks to making money with blogs that affords me the toys my family enjoys.

Writing for your blog is no different than writing for Readers Digest or writing a book. These authors get paid and so should you.

Unclear about how to make money blogging – I suffered this problem for years. I didn't know how to monetize my writing. I tried everything from affiliate programs to selling my own stuff to placing Google AdSense classified ads next my blog posts. Nothing worked. It was depressing. And I stopped blogging for years because of it. I listened to all of the wrong "gurus." And my bank account suffered.

But today, I figured out how to turn my content into a virtual online tollbooth. Yes, affiliate programs and selling my own stuff and even Google AdSense are now paying off. The key is to know where to place these money-making links near your blog content.

In the past, I made all of the typical blogger mistakes. But today, every blog post I write ultimately makes me money. That means every time I write, I ultimately get paid — for life.

Don't know how to attract blog visitors – You can blog about sports scores and predict tomorrow's lottery numbers, but if no one knows about your blog, you're going to be wasting your time. And you're ultimately going to be frustrated and give up.

That's why the moment I press the "Publish" button and submit my blog post, my promotion efforts go into full swing.

I use social media tools and sites like Digg,Twitter and Reddit to announce my new blog posts. I submit my RSS feed to tons of RSS directories. I copy my content and publish it to article marketing directories like EzineArticles and ArticlesBase. And if I have the extra time, I create a quick 2- to 3-minute video and post it to YouTube for additional promotional activity (including a link back to my blog post).

It takes me less than 25 minutes to promote my blog entry. That's it. And the results are almost instant and amazing. In fact it's not unusual to have my blog post show up in Google just hours after publishing my blog entry. Sometimes I get featured in just minutes.

And the best part is this 25-minute investment pays off for life.

Writer's block – By far, the most common reason bloggers fail to earn money blogging is because they hate to write.

I hear you and completely understand your disdain for writing. I HATED to even read most of my school-age life. I never read a single book until age 19. I cheated my way through high school… got 940 on my SATs (yes, that's combined). And I flunked out of college to the displeasure of my parents.

But today, I'm a writing machine. I LOVE to write. And my secret is simple… I follow one of many copywriting formulas. These formulas have been used throughout the ages to hook in the reader and get them excited to take an action (like subscribe to a newsletter, click on a link or buy something).

Get this… you can even borrow someone else's writing and make money at the same time. It's true. Article directories offer this FREE. Just copy the article in your niche, paste it into your blog… press the "Publish" submit button and watch your bank account grow (over time).

This article shows you the five benefits of blogging.

The benefits of corporate blogging are numerous.

Blogging has been around since 1993, but really became mainstream in 1999. And the benefits of blogging have remained virtually unchanged since then.

I LOVE blogging and know you will too. Here's why:

FREE lead generation
For me, putting my lead generation efforts on autopilot is the single biggest benefit of blogging.

Every word I write on my blog has the ability to show up in a search result at the most popular search engines like Google, Yahoo! and Bing…. in just days (maybe even in a few hours). And when a Google customer searches for words that also appear on my blog, I have an excellent chance to have that same visitor swing by my site FREE.

While my competitors are paying 50 cents… a dollar… or even up to $50.00 for each lead, getting the same precisely-qualified visitor to my blog at no charge is quite exciting.

That's an amazing concept worth repeating…

… Every word you display on your blog is likely to show up in a Google search in hours (or even mere minutes). And when a Google search matches the words on your blog, there's an excellent chance to have that same searcher click to read your entire blog post.

That means every time you write on your blog, you're almost instantly scaling out your lead generation efforts. How awesome is that?

Gain international fame
Blogging positions yourself as the expert on the topic you choose to write about. It's true. The fact that you've put your thoughts in writing is much more powerful than saying it out loud. And the more you blog, the more your "fans" (i.e. repeat visitors) are going to adore you.

Become an instant free agent
Another one of the many benefits of corporate blogging is it gives you instant "free agent" status. Just like a star football player.

When you name your blog with your actual name in the blog title, you retain ownership no matter where you blog from (or for whom you work for).

In today's economic climate, odds are you're not going to retire at the same company you're currently employed with. But the good news is blogging vritually bulletproofs your job security. If your boss threatens to fire you or let you go, just remind him/her that the competition would LOVE to have you continue blogging for the away team.

Blogging is easy
And blogging today is easier than ever. The latest version of WordPress sets you back about 30 minutes to install. After that, you're done. Time to blog. Internet marketing couldn't be easier.

WordPress' blogging software offers us hundreds (maybe even thousands) of "plugins"… almost always free software enhancements that adds additional features to your blog.

I currently use 8 plugins. These plugins help speed up the load time of my blog pages… display the best-matching corporate sponsors next to each blog post… and even handle the SEO work automatically.

The bottom line is no aspect of internet marketing delivers as many benefits as corporate blogging… and the best part is it's all entirely FREE.
