Stump Markus FAQs

Here are the most frequently asked questions about guesting on my weekly broadcast

What exactly is Stump Markus?
Every Thursday at high noon (east coast time), I host a business-building "talkcast". It's a live, interactive discussion about all things related to marketing.

The call is 100% FREE. No issue is taboo. And we have a blast swapping marketing ideas.

Here's a sample recording of author Jeff Dobkin and Don Morris discussing ways to generate leads.

What's in it for me to participate?
Besides the obvious benefit of getting lots of new leads to hear your great ideas, joining the call as my special guest gets you rubbing elbows with other past guests through my private, inner circle.

Best of all, I give you a direct link to the replay of your guest appearance. It's a great way to leave your legacy on audio.

How should I prepare to sound great?
Keep in mind that my broadcast is both live and interactive. In addition to swapping ideas over the phone for all to hear, we simultaneously swap ideas over the internet, chat-style interface supplied to us by TalkShoe.com.

With that said, it's best arm yourself with recommended website links saved in a word processing document -- this way, when you want to recommend a website, you simply copy and paste the links into the chat. In addition to having live listeners being able to click on your recommended links... those same recommendations are added to my Companion Notes and available (for life) in my online archives.

Although the TalkShoe system offers many different ways to call into the broadcast (like voice-over-IP services like Skype), I strongly recommended using your plain 'ol telephone. It's tempting to use a speaker phone or even a cell phone, however doing so significantly weakens your sound quality.

How many people listen to each week's broadcast?
There are a few factors that determine listenership... as you'd imagine, when I have big names as guests, we get lots of participation. And the topic factors in, too. Controversial topics generate a lot of listeners.

The broadcast is geared to those looking to grow their business -- usually through internet marketing. The audience is made up of three basic categories... newbies and under-the-radar advanced marketers, and somewhere in between. You'll notice I try to steer the broadcast to help all categories at the same time.

As far as numbers, they're growing pretty steadily month after month. I usually get dozens and dozens of participants during the actual broadcast, and hundreds and hundreds who listen to the replay. After 5 days, the replay is transfered to my member's only section.

How do I participate in the broadcast?
The call begins Thursday at exactly high noon (New York time). I do suggest calling in a few minutes early to make sure your connection is clean.

I use a nifty FREE service called TalkShoe to manage both the chat and the phone calls. I do recommend registering with TalkShoe, and when you're asked to create a username, I highly recommend using your website URL -- for example, mine is StumpMarkus.com. Also, make sure to add your website URL in the profile section -- you're going to get a nice boost of traffic from those curious about you and looking at your profile.

Once you register, please send me your username so I can bypass you from the queue and have your call connected immediately to the broadcast -- my email address is stumpmarkus [at] gmail.com.
